Vice President of Construction
Mr. Steven Sanders has the building business in his “blood”. Since the age of 14, Steve has been following the footsteps of his father, learning everything he possibly could during his high school summers. Since graduating, however, Steve has spent his career climbing up the ladder of success as laborer, assistant superintendent, Project Superintendent, Project Manager and presently he is President of Construction. Steve is highly knowledgeable in all facets of construction; however, he has specialized in the underground construction field, and has extensive hands-on experience in concrete foundations, framing, plumbing and deck construction.
Because of his years as a superintendent, he is also skilled in overseeing the work of all other trades such as electrical, heating and air conditioning, roofing, cabinets, drywall, just to name a few. Over the past several years especially, Steve has gained experience in the demanding tasks of competitive bidding, writing contracts and scope of work language, and inspection of work prior to payment of invoices. He has become a master at negotiating with the on-site subcontractors and consultants to obtain the quickest completion at the lowest cost to the company.
Steve has completed Building Codes, Customer Service, Warranty Repair, and Management courses at Cuesta College. With this knowledge he has applied himself to his craft for the past 20 years with skill and wisdom. Steve has played a key role in building hundreds of homes in the Central Coast and Kern County areas. S & S Homes is proud to have such a well qualified individual to manage on-site construction.
